Living with Invisalign®

Invisalign is built to be unobtrusive. Treat your smile without the need for bulky brackets and appliances.

Not Your Everyday Braces

Invisalign treatment consists of a series of clear aligner trays that move your teeth like braces, but don’t come with the same limitations.

No diet changes

Take out your aligners and eat whatever sticky, crunchy foods you want.

No change in extracurriculars

No need for special mouthguards or adjusting to new ways of playing instruments. Replace your trays with a standard mouthguard or take them out if you need to.

Brush and floss like normal

No brackets or wires to floss and brush around makes taking care of your teeth during treatment just as easy as it was before you started treatment.

Fewer emergency visits

Less breakable parts to fall off or get caught in things mean you’ll see less of your orthodontist during frantic emergency visits.

Invisible

The clear aligners are virtually invisible, especially compared to the steel and titanium you would likely wear otherwise.

Wearing Invisalign

Taking care of your Invisalign trays is less of a hassle than braces, but doing so is still important for your treatment.

Take your trays out to eat and drink

You don’t have to change your diet, but you do have to take out your trays when eating or drinking anything that isn’t water. Not doing so might break or stain your aligners.

Wear your trays 20-22 hours per day

Especially for the first few days, you need to wear your trays as much as possible. Noncompliance can stall or reverse your treatment!

Get new sets during checkups

Your orthodontist will give you new sets of aligners during checkups.

Rinse your trays every morning and night

Rinsing your trays keeps bacteria from growing all over them.

Clean your trays

Use the Invisalign cleaning system or ask our office for tablets to keep your trays clean.
